Odisha Sanctions ₹10 Cr for Advocates

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has sanctioned ₹10 crore to the Odisha Advocates Welfare Fund for death-cum-retirement benefits, according to official reports on Saturday.

A letter confirming the allocation stated, “Sanction of funds for ‘State Contribution to Odisha Advocates Welfare Fund, 2024-25’ during the financial year 2024-25. The Governor has approved an expenditure of ₹10 crore, as outlined in Annexure-I.”

The funds are debitable to the Law Department under Demand Number 2014 – Administration of Justice. The expenditure will be directed toward contributions to the Advocates Welfare Fund for the upcoming fiscal year.

The letter emphasized that no diversion of funds between units will be allowed without prior approval from the Law Department. It further noted that the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) and the responsible treasury would handle the sanctioned funds in accordance with existing rules and procedures.

Strict adherence to financial rules and protocols has been mandated, ensuring proper utilization of the allocated amount.
