Odisha CM comes out of house To Welcome Agitating BJP MLAs  

 

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): BJP legislators were surprised while agitating outside Naveen Niwas to see  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik stepped out of his residence, and agreed to a discussion over the controversial anomalies in the procurement of paddy in the State.

The opposition leaders agitating and did not move when MLAs of the ruling party plea them with folded hands to come inside the CM’s residence, in order to convince them Naveen Patnaik came to the protest spot and later welcomed them to his residence for a discussion over Mandi mismanagement in the state.

Minutes later, Senior BJP MLA Bishnu Sethi who was part of the delegation, come out of Naveen Niwas and said, “the Chief Minister has given assurances that the Speaker would convene an all-party meeting to discuss the (paddy procurement) issues. Naveen Patnaik has also assured that paddy will be lifted from the mandis.”

“We are happy that we finally ‘found’ the CM. It is for the first time in the last 21 year’s political history of the State that the Chief Minister himself came out and called us for discussion,” Sethi announced.

Earlier during the day, the BJP cone to the streets of the state capital holding placards marched towards Naveen Niwas to meet the CM for his ‘absence’ from the Assembly during the budget session where actions were held up for the sixth consecutive day over the paddy procurement and mandi mismanagement issues.

Meanwhile, senior BJD leader Bikram Keshari Arukh said, “the BJP delegation had gone to meet the CM and the discussions were held in the most cordial manner. We hope the Odisha Assembly will now function normally.”
