Naveen Patnaik and other dignitaries mourn the death of Uttam Mohanty

Bhubaneswar: The whole of Odisha is mourning the demise of yesteryear actor Uttam Mohanty who passed away while undergoing treatment at Medant Hospital in Gurugram on Thursday.

Many dignitaries have expressed grief over the demise of the seasoned artist in the Odia cinema industry. LoP Naveen Patnaik mourned his death. Taking to his X handle, Naveen Patnaik wrote,” I am saddened on the demise of the popular and legendary actor of the Odia film world, Uttam Mohanty. His death has created a void in the industry. He will always be remembered in the hearts of his fans for his legendary films. In such a sad time, I express my condolences to the bereaved family and pray for the eternal peace of his soul.”

Famous National award winning director Himansu Sekhar Khatua also expressed his heartfelt condolences on the demise of the yesteryear actor. The actor will be cremated with the full State Honours at 11.30 am in Bhubaneswar today.
