Modi & Murmu to Visit Odisha: Rairangpur Declared No-Fly Zone on June 19-20

To lock down security for President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visits, the Mayurbhanj district administration in Odisha has marked all event venues as strict “no-drone and no-flying zones.” The district collector issued an official, high-priority letter to the Mayurbhanj Superintendent of Police, ordering clear signage at each location to bar drone cameras—no exceptions for media crews or the public.

Security’s tight this time, and for good reason. This marks the first time both the President and the Prime Minister will attend an event together in Odisha. President Murmu, who grew up in Rairangpur, returns home on June 19, 2026. Prime Minister Modi follows on June 20. The two leaders will gather to celebrate the second anniversary events of the state’s BJP government and jointly lay foundations for several key development projects.

Preparations are already in full swing. The district is buzzing; Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed local leaders to lock down the venues security, sort out parking, and keep things smooth for the crowds. On top of that, the state’s Director General of Police told the Mayurbhanj SP to strictly enforce the no-fly rule. Anyone breaking these VVIP orders faces legal action.
