Man Hacks Wife to Death in Kerala Following Argument

Palakkattuthazham,Ernakulam: A man from West Bengal allegedly hacked his wife to death following a heated argument at their residence in Bhai Colony on Saturday morning.

The accused, identified as Shiba Bahadoor Chetri, hails from Murshidabad, West Bengal. He was taken into custody by Ernakulam rural police shortly after the incident.

The victim, 39-year-old Mamani Chetri, was rushed to a private hospital in Perumbavoor, but succumbed to her injuries.

Police reports indicate that the altercation, which occurred around 7:30 am, escalated into violence when Chetri attacked his wife with a machete.

While initial investigations suggest jealousy as a possible motive, the exact cause of the conflict remains unclear.

A team led by Ernakulam rural SP Dr.Vaibhav Saxena has launched an investigation into the case.
