Man Arrested for Killing Wife In Odisha

Malkangiri: A man was arrested in Kalimela block of Odisha’s Malkangiri district today for allegedly killing his wife following a family dispute. The accused, identified as Niten Biswas, confessed to the crime and surrendered to the police.

The incident occurred on Friday night around 11 PM in MV-66 village under Kalimela police limits. According to preliminary investigations, Niten, who sold sugarcane juice in front of a school in Kalimela’s Block Colony, slit his wife’s throat with a sharp weapon during a heated argument. The attack proved fatal, and she died on the spot.

Following the incident, Niten approached Kalimela police and surrendered. He has been taken into custody and is being interrogated. Officials confirmed that he admitted to the crime, and a case has been registered.

A scientific team from Koraput is expected to arrive soon to assist in the investigation. Further details will be disclosed as the probe progresses.
