Malkangiri Woman Beaten to Death by Husband Over Liquor Row

Malkangiri: In a shocking case of domestic violence, a 38-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband at Ginipalli village under M.V.79 police station limits in Malkangiri district late on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Prabhati Kunj. According to reports, the incident occurred when her husband, Bhima Kunj, a habitual drinker, demanded liquor. Prabhati, who had served homemade country liquor to some workers, refused to give him any.

Enraged, Bhima allegedly attacked her with a spade. He then subjected her to further assault, inserting a stick into her private parts, which ultimately led to her death.

Villagers who witnessed the gruesome incident overpowered the accused and handed him over to the police. Acting on a complaint, police detained Bhima and launched an investigation.

The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination, police confirmed.
