JNV Koraput Students Protest Against History Teacher

Jeypore (Koraput): Over 50 students of PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Landiguda in Koraput district, staged a protest on Monday by walking nearly six kilometres to the District Magistrate’s office, demanding action against their History teacher.
The students, all from Class XI, alleged that their teacher, identified as Prachi Madam, misbehaves with them and does not teach the subject properly. They said that despite several written and verbal complaints to the school authorities, no action has been taken so far.
“We came here because our History teacher’s behaviour and teaching methods are not good. We reported the matter many times, but no one listened. That’s why we approached the Collector directly,” said Class XI student Suchitra Pujari.
Another student, Pradeep Kumar, expressed concern over their upcoming board exams in February, saying, “We have complained multiple times to the principal, but nothing has been done. If this continues, how will we perform in the exams?”
Responding to the students’ grievances, Koraput Sub-Collector Premlal Hial assured them that the matter would be examined and necessary action taken. Later, the district administration arranged a bus to escort the students back to the school.
Meanwhile, the JNV Principal said she had already forwarded reports regarding the issue to the Assistant Commissioner for further action.
