Illegal LPG refilling unit busted in Balasore

Jaleswar: The District Supply Department on Tuesday busted an illegal domestic LPG cylinder refilling unit in Bhograi block of Balasore district in Odisha. During the raid, officials seized more than 500 domestic LPG cylinders along with a gas converter machine from the godown.

According to information, the accused was illegally transferring domestic cooking gas into commercial cylinders and smuggling them to neighbouring West Bengal.

Sources said that upon receiving information about the raid, the owner of the unit, identified as Deep Das, locked the premises and fled the spot.

During the raid, the department also seized a gas converter machine and several cylinders from behind the house.
