Helicopters to Assist Voter Transport in Nuapada Bypoll

Odisha’s Chief Electoral Officer R.S. Gopalan announced that helicopters will be deployed in the upcoming Nuapada Assembly by-election to facilitate voter movement in remote regions.

The bypoll is scheduled for November 11, 2025.

According to the CEO, eight polling booths located across five inaccessible locations in Nuapada district will be serviced by helicopters. These arrangements aim to ensure that voters in difficult terrain can reach polling stations safely and efficiently. The use of helicopters will primarily focus on transporting voters to and from these booths.

To maintain security and smooth conduct of the election, 14 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be deployed across the constituency. The Model Code of Conduct has already come into effect following the announcement of the bypoll.

The final electoral roll will be published by October 10, and the nomination process will conclude by October 20. The entire election process is expected to wrap up by November 16.

This initiative reflects the Election Commission’s commitment to inclusive and accessible voting, even in the most remote corners of Odisha.
