Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister Parvati Parida announced on Sunday that the Odisha government will launch the Subhadra Yojana within 100 days, following Cabinet approval. The scheme aims to provide ₹50,000 assistance to women beneficiaries.
“The scheme is currently in the drafting stage and will be rolled out within 100 days. Women beneficiaries will receive ₹50,000 assistance,” Parida told reporters.
She confirmed that the Women and Child Development department is prepared to implement the scheme. “Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo is attending the GST council meeting and must have informed the Centre about the scheme. However, the Odisha government will proceed without waiting for anyone. We have the necessary budget to provide assistance to all women in the state,” Parida added.
On Saturday, Singh Deo requested partial funding from the Centre for the Subhadra scheme, a key promise in the BJP’s election manifesto for Odisha, during the pre-budget and GST council meetings chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi.
“The state government is set to launch Subhadra Yojana, where every woman will receive a ₹50,000 voucher to be encashed over two years. This innovative initiative aims to empower women and enhance entrepreneurship,” Singh Deo said.
The primary goal of the scheme is to improve women’s standing in the community and provide them with financial independence.
