Five Arrested in Bhubaneswar Real Estate Attack Case
Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the brutal attack on real estate businessman Santosh Panda. The arrests followed the detention of two individuals on Tuesday, according to DSP Pinak Mishra, who confirmed the development during a press briefing on Wednesday.
The incident occurred near the Kuakhai River in the Mancheswar Biramunda area under Nandankanan police limits. Panda was abducted by unknown assailants in a Bolero with its number plate concealed using black tape. He was severely assaulted, with his leg axed and a gunshot wound inflicted.
Panda’s wife filed a complaint at the Mancheswar police station, prompting an investigation. CCTV footage captured the abduction and played a crucial role in identifying the suspects. Police conducted multiple raids across Bhubaneswar, leading to the arrests.
The attack is believed to have stemmed from a land dispute. Panda is currently receiving treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Further investigation is ongoing.
