Firecrackers worth Rs 15 lakh seized from poultry farm

Soro: The Soro police has begun Operation Agni ahead of Diwali and seized firecrackers worth Rs 15 lakh. The crackers were seized from a hotel and a poultry farm in Bahanaga block of Balasore district.

The Soro police conducted surprise raids and seized the illegal crackers from a pick-up van parked near the hotel. The police has arrested one person in this regard.

The police received a tip off mentioning that a man from Mardarjpur every year illegally sold firecrackers worth crores of rupees.

Recently, Firecrackers worth more than Rs 3 lakh have been seized in Chhatrapur of Ganjam district in Odisha. The seizure was done at a rice godown in the Park sahi of Chhatrapur NAC.

As per reports, on the instructions of Ganjam SP, Police today conducted search at the rice godown and seized huge amount of firecrackers worth lakhs of rupees.

Chhatrapur SDPO Chandan Ghadei, Chhatrapur police and magistrate conducted this raid and seized the crackers.
