Curfew Lifted in Cuttack as Situation Returns to Normal

Bhubaneswar: The 36-hour curfew imposed in Cuttack city has been lifted at 10 a.m. today, with the situation gradually returning to normal. No fresh incidents of violence or unrest have been reported so far. However, internet services will remain suspended until 7 p.m. as a precautionary measure.
Police Commissioner S. Devdutta Singh informed that curfew restrictions were relaxed as no extension order was issued, and normalcy is slowly being restored across the city. He urged residents to maintain peace and harmony and help in restoring communal unity.

The curfew was enforced on Sunday night in 13 police station areas, including Darghabazar, Mangalabagh, and Cantonment, following violent clashes during a Durga idol immersion procession. So far, eight people have been arrested, and three cases have been registered in connection with attacks on police personnel.
Commissioner Singh stated that raids are continuing across different parts of the city, with CCTV footage being examined to identify miscreants involved in the violence. He assured that the administration is taking all measures to maintain peace and order.
Life in Cuttack is slowly returning to normal, with shops reopening and residents resuming their daily activities.
