Cold Wave Intensifies Across Odisha; 16 Places Record Minimum Temperatures Below 10°C

Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions tightened their grip on Odisha on Sunday, with at least 16 locations across the state recording minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Udayagiri emerged as the coldest place in the state, where the mercury plunged to 3.1 degrees Celsius. Semiliguda followed with a minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees Celsius, while Phulbani recorded 5.5 degrees Celsius. Daringbadi registered a low of 6 degrees Celsius, Koraput 6.5 degrees Celsius and Chiplima 7.8 degrees Celsius.

Nabarangpur and Rourkela reported minimum temperatures of 8 degrees Celsius each, while Jharsuguda recorded 8.2 degrees Celsius. Bhawanipatna registered 8.5 degrees Celsius, Angul 9 degrees Celsius and Kirei 9.2 degrees Celsius. Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Boudh and Sundargarh also experienced chilly conditions, with temperatures hovering around the 10-degree Celsius mark.

The IMD has advised people to take necessary precautions, as cold wave conditions are likely to persist in several parts of the state over the coming days.
