CMC Raids Food Stalls at Bali Yatra, Seizes Stale and Expired Items

Cuttack: In a bid to ensure public health during the ongoing Bali Yatra 2025, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) carried out surprise raids on food stalls at the fairground on Saturday morning.
Led by the CMC Health Officer and Food Safety Officers, inspection teams seized and destroyed large quantities of stale and expired food items. Several vendors found selling substandard food were also fined on the spot.

The world-famous Bali Yatra, which commenced on Kartik Purnima, has been drawing massive crowds daily. However, following reports of stale food being served, the CMC Food Safety Unit launched a crackdown across multiple stalls.
During the operation, officials confiscated and destroyed spoiled snacks, cooked food, and perishable items past their safe consumption period. The CMC has warned all vendors to strictly comply with food safety standards and announced that surprise checks will continue throughout the fair.
Bali Yatra, one of Asia’s largest open-air trade fairs, continues to attract huge crowds as authorities remain vigilant to prevent any food-related health hazards.
