Bhubaneswar: A disturbing social media post allegedly threatening to bomb the 400-year-old Baldev Jew Temple at Ichhapur in Kendrapara district has triggered panic and outrage among devotees, prompting swift action by law enforcement agencies.

The post, reportedly made by an individual using a fake identity on social media, raised serious security concerns for the historic shrine, which attracts devotees from across the country. Following the threat, police have initiated an inquiry to trace the person behind the post and assess the credibility of the threat.

Meanwhile, members of Baldev Jena, an outfit, submitted a memorandum to the Kendrapara Superintendent of Police, demanding immediate and strict action against the individual who issued the threat online.

Expressing concern over the safety of the shrine, Pupun Kumar Swain, president of the outfit, alleged that security arrangements at the temple have been inadequate. “Baldev Jew Temple is a 400-year-old sacred site that draws devotees from across the nation. Its security has been neglected,” he said.
