Bharatpur IIC & 2 Officers Transferred

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has transferred the Inspector In Charge (IIC) of Bharatpur police station, along with two other officers, in response to allegations involving the alleged assault and wrongful arrest of Major Gurvansh Singh, an Indian Army officer of the Sikh Regiment, and his fiancé.

According to a notification from the Commissionerate Police, IIC Dinakrushna Mishra has been reassigned to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Bhubaneswar. Additionally, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Salilamayee Sahoo and Constable Balaram Hansda, both from Bharatpur police station, have also been transferred. ASI Sahoo will now be posted at the DCP office in Bhubaneswar, while Constable Hansda has been moved to the RO Bhubaneswar.

This decision follows an order from Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania for a Crime Branch investigation into the allegations against the officers. The move aims to ensure a fair and impartial inquiry into the incident.
