Sundargarh: Anganwadi Worker Murdered by Obsessive Lover

In a tragic incident in Sundargarh district, an Anganwadi worker was brutally hacked to death by a man who had been persistently pursuing her despite repeated rejections. The victim, identified as Divyabharti Ada, was attacked by Sarat Kaudi, a man who had been in one-sided love with her.

According to sources, Sarat had proposed to Divya multiple times, but she consistently rejected his advances, urging him to respect her wishes. Undeterred, Sarat continued to harass her, eventually resorting to violence.

On the day of the incident, Divya was returning home from work in Julumbahal Purana village when Sarat ambushed her in an isolated spot and attacked her with a sharp weapon, killing her on the spot.

The crime occurred under the Hemgiri police limits. Following the incident, Divya’s uncle filed a complaint, and the police have registered a case, initiating a manhunt for Sarat, who is currently on the run.

Locals claim that Divya had warned Sarat about their different castes and her future plans, but he refused to let go of his
obsessive desire to marry her. The community has expressed shock and outrage over the brutal act, with many highlighting the tragic consequences of harassment and obsession.
