Mother, Daughter Killed as Truck Runs Over Scooter on NH-26 in Balangir

Balangir: A woman and her daughter were killed after a truck ran over their scooter on National Highway-26 in Balangir town on Tuesday, police said.

The accident occurred near a Bajaj showroom at Gandhi Nagar Pada. According to reports, the mother and daughter were travelling on a scooter when the truck hit them. Both died on the spot.

Sources said the daughter was dropping her mother, who worked at a nursing home, when the mishap took place.

The truck driver fled the spot immediately after the accident and is currently absconding.

Police reached the scene after being alerted, recovered the bodies, and launched an investigation into the incident.
