65 Platoons Of Police To Be Deployed Ratha Yatra In Puri

 

Puri (Reporters Today Bureau): To the fore of The world famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath on July 12 this year, ADG of Police RK Sharma inspected the security courses of action for the chariot celebration in Puri today.

As per the Security arrangements, Temple will be divided into four zones and The Puri town will be divided into 12 zones. A tight security course of action will be made at the passage points of the town.

Besides, security personnel will be deployed on the terrace of buildings adjoining the Grand Road (‘Bada Danda’).

A total of 65 platoons of the police force will be engaged to ensure full-proof security during the Ratha Jatra.

Also, 31 DSPs and Assistant Commanders, and 64 IICs will be deployed in the town.

Noteworthy, while partaking of devotees in the Rath Yatra has been prohibited due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they also can’t watch the celebration from the roof of their homes on the two sides of the Bada Danda.

In the meantime, the district administration has decided not to enforce the weekend shutdown in Puri on Saturday (July 10) but curfew will be in effect from 8 PM of Sunday (July 11) to 8 PM of Tuesday (July 13) for a smooth accomplishment of Rath Yatra scheduled to be held on July 12.
